As children we probably all thought: ‘Why do I have to go to school? Or: How does the world work?’. Wout Wagemans also had these thoughts at a young age.His view of life and the world have made Remarkt what it is today: The marketleader of refurbished IT in the Netherlands. With a warehouse bigger than 2000m2 they will continue to grow.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

UsedPC4Sale, the predecessor of Remarkt.nl focused on cheap refurbished products. Their market share in high-end products kept growing. This didn’t fit the business proposition of UsedPC4Sale. Which is why WOut founded Remarkt five years ago, a home-made magento webshop which focused more on high-end refurbished products. Remarkt kept growing over the years, UsedPC4Sale kept getting smaller.
That’s when the focus shifted to Rmarkt. You build up a division and then you hire a manager, because it is too much work to continue managing it on your own. That’s how we grew to 30 FTEs”

After GMU analysed our Google Analytics they saw that most of our profit came from Google Ads. As the CEO I value data. I want to know where we can grow. When originally our traffic came from the Dutch eBay, now our Google Ads campaigns are converting.

REMaRKT’s FUTURE 

Our next focus is going international. We operate within 10 minutes of the German border, so that’s a logical next step. It would be great to have a warehouse in Germany. We can easily move item back ad forth. Currently we are still fully focused on expanding in the Dutch market. But when you are a market leader it’s only natural you start looking at international expansion.

 

And online marketing… 

Data is evidence. We are working on optimising our Google Ads even more. When we look at the impressionshare there’s still a lot we can improve on. We have to do this in a durable way, however. Our Return on Ad Spent has to stay optimal.
