It all started more than 20 years ago,when we started our e-commerce journey ourselves.
As entrepreneurs, our primary focus was obviously on sales growth, preferably a monthly increase over the previous month. After all, the most important elements of a growing business are sales and marketing; after all, without sales, there is no business.
But we quickly learned that it was smarter to focus on profitable revenue growth. Through marketing efforts such as Google Ads and SEO, we may have been growing rapidly, but at the same time we were seeing our bank account shrink just as fast.

We found that it was impossible to consistently run a profitable business, let alone grow, by bidding on keywords with the best of intentions. Online advertising with Google Ads and Google Shopping allowed us to grow quickly, but without a data-driven strategy, our bank account dwindled just as quickly.
We found that it was impossible to consistently run, let alone scale, a profitable business by bidding on Google Adwords keywords and Google Shopping products with the best of intentions.
This brought us to the key question: how can we grow our ads for new products as quickly as possible in terms of revenue in a profitable way?
Thanks to our background in software engineering, we started developing our proprietary Google Ads management software, based on mathematical algorithms we use to maximize profits at the product level. Our focus went beyond keywords. Instead of bidding on keywords, we look at marketing from the product: profit optimization from the margins of all items placed in orders, by item and by country. In this way, things like price compared to competition, scarce/niche items, runners-up, etc. can be recognized and divided into different marketing segments. We segment products based on performance and profit goals in different campaigns, each with its own goal and cost constraint. This is how our unique, data-driven Google Ads campaign structure was created, with which we have been successful for years.
Test Phase - For products without data, we use a controlled budget and safe starting bid for Google Ads. It is not desirable to use these test products in an automated strategy such as Google Shopping Performance Max because no data is yet available for these products. By isolating these products in a classic Google Shopping campaign with a limited Google Ads bid, we can safely test whether a product can be successful with a limited budget at Google Shopping and in Google Ads.
Mid Funnel - When a product realizes its first sales and within your intended return falls, we move the product to the Mid Funnel. Here we work with the average return we want to achieve over the entire Google Ads campaign. We control the Mid Funnel like cruise control with an algorithm for target returns. You can think of the Mid Funnel strategy as a kind of growth chamber, where we grow the products into a Profit Star or Revenue Star.
Bleeders - Products that generate a lot of impressions and clicks without being sold end up in the Bleeders segment. Here we set a low Google Ads bid so that the product is still visible in Google Shopping, but does not consume a large part of the Google Ads budget. This is a very important part of our strategy. Products that we mark as Bleeders typically gobble up up to 70% of your budget. Imagine how much additional revenue you could generate if you put this 70%, which is also lossy, on your most profitable products.
This is exactly what we're doing; after 20 years of testing, this appears to have the greatest impact. Because of this segmentation, we save an average of 70% of the budget that would otherwise be lost to non-converting clicks. We can invest this saved budget in PPC campaigns with the highest probability of winning, achieving our goals with smart bid adjustments and a proven PPC management strategy.
Rising Stars - Google Shopping products that perform vastly above your target return (and thus are by far the most profitable) are given the highest priority and enter the Rising Stars category. Here they get an unlimited budget. This sounds scary, but is essential to our strategy. For example, if a product brings in 16 times its PPC deposit, as a true entrepreneur, you want to keep selling that indefinitely, right? However, it's important to be on top of this like a hawk. That's where our algorithms come in. When a product with an unlimited budget no longer reaches its x16, but moves toward Mid Funnel returns, we automatically move the product into the Mid Funnel with our Google Ads Manager Software and the product is also fully automatically given a limited Google Ads budget. NOTE: If you are using an unlimited budget strategy, always automate your limits, otherwise this can go wrong.
Revenue Stars - Years of data analysis shows that 80% of revenue comes from only a maximum of 20% of products (the well-known 80/20 rule or Pareto principle). In addition to your Profit Stars for creating additional space in returns, your Revenue Stars are essential for achieving your revenue growth, an important segment. We place these products in a special segment where we optimize each product for maximum sales/profit ratio.
Profit Stars - The products that perform far beyond your intended returns. You want to give them literally unlimited space, yes, you heard right, really unlimited. Say a product is sold with a return of 1500%, why wouldn't you want to invest €10,000 to generate €150,000 in sales? Note: unlimited budgets can be very dangerous if you set them manually. Since we manage campaign structures with our own software, a product automatically falls back into another segment with budget restrictions and different bids/goals once it is not a Profit Star.
For 20 years, the above structure has been our blueprint for success. With this blueprint, we became the market leader within two years.
